All about Wedding Invitations

The traditional method of asking friends and family members to attend your wedding is by personally giving them your Wedding Invitations. The history of using Wedding Invitations can be dated back during the Industrial Revolution in the 1700s when better printing methods where invented that uses inks instead of hand etchings. But before this time, Wedding Invitations are usually made by a “town crier” who shouts out loud about the wedding and anyone who hears it is automatically invited to the celebration. (A town crier, in the ancient time, is person whose line of work is going in the middle of the street to shout the latest information and events for that given day.)

In the contemporary setting, Wedding Invitations are now efficiently made via different technological methods of printing such as letterpress, offset, embossed or laser. The design, the color of print, the type of paper to be used and the content of Wedding Invitations are always decided upon by the soon-to-be husband and wife. Oftentimes, the top choice for Wedding Invitations is made of fancy paper like linen, printed with embossed lettering, and whose color matches the motif of the wedding. There are also many instances when scented papers are chosen over unscented ones.

In VIP weddings like celebrity or business tycoon weddings, oftentimes the Wedding Invitations that are sent contain a reply note to make sure whether the invited guest will surely attend the wedding or not. This will help the wedding planner in making arrangements that crucially involve the number of persons that are going to attend such as determining the number of plate settings and wedding tokens, and identifying the volume of food to be served.

the Father’s Message

Most fathers are protective for their baby girls which becomes a problem when their daughters are about to get married. Fathers tend to become emotional especially during the wedding day. However, this was not the scene that my eyes witnessed in the wedding of my friend; Angeline. Her father looked so happy and secured that her daughter had to be given to another man. When it was time to give a message, all wedding lights were turned off and a spotlight beamed my friend’s father.

The bride’s father expressed how much their family loved their little princess and that her husband is a lucky man. He then explains that they feel happy that their daughter is now married. “We did not lose a family member but we gained another”. This was the few words of the man before the crowd applaued him for his beautiful message. This was one of the best message delivered in all of the weddings that I have attended.

Yeah… Angeline’s father is right. I sure hope that my father will feel the same when it is my time to walk the aisle and take a vow.

Not-so-white on the Wedding

White is a common choice for Wedding Shoes and dresses. However, white could be too plain (and sometimes boring) that is why some people search for alternatives.

If you would try to ask people why they choose white for their wedding shoes and dresses, they would either say that it’s traditional or because it signifies simplicity and purity. However, if you would want to look great on your wedding and not a complete bore, you could be creative by choosing other shades close to white that will make you look more elegant while you retain the simplicity.

You can choose ecru or off-white for your wedding dress and Ivory Wedding Shoes to complete the beautiful bride. You can still choose white for the flowers, tables and laces and using these colors is better than using the same color for your dress and shoes.

It is also best to take a look at other options for your dress and shoes. If you would ask your couturier, he or she will surely have some piece of helpful advice. Asking for suggestions will surely give you more options, more ideas and eventually a more beautiful dress paired up with an elegant pair of shoes.
